I started my first business as a painter with no training or guidance when I was 21 and at University. I loved the freedom and independence of being my own boss but struggled with the uncertainty and challenges of leading a business.

I structured my business to provide my ideal lifestyle at the time. I worked 8 months a year and traveled the world for the other 4 with the money I’d saved. I was fortunate to experience 40 countries over 4 life-changing years. It was an incredible time in my life!

My career really took off when I became a corporate business coach and trainer for WOW 1 DAY PAINTING. The amazing team there helped rapidly develop my business knowledge. I consider it my real-world MBA!

Over 4 years, I trained and coached 35 new painting Franchises across North America to an average of $400,000+ revenue in their first 12 months.

Supporting people’s growth through coaching became my passion. It gave me an intimate understanding of the challenges, mistakes, and wins that owners experience while growing a 7 figure business.

Unfortunately, 4 years of constant business travel took its toll on my mental and physical health. I burned out and struggled with severe insomnia for months before finally quitting.

I simplified my life and moved to Australia for a year with my partner Maddie to recharge, explore, and enjoy the best year of our lives! That trip provided the opportunity to redesign my ideal life and career.

My next opportunity arrived serendipitously while I was camping on the coast of the Great Barrier Reef. I partnered with 2 former colleagues to become an owner and management consultant in Trailblaze Partners.

Over the next 3 years, I supported hundreds of businesses - from small startups to franchises and major corporations - in solving their biggest challenges. We helped companies grow through leadership development, people (recruiting & retention), and culture.

I also worked as a fractional CEO during this time, leading the multi-million dollar growth of a home service franchisor. I loved leading the team and growth strategy.

I started The Intentional Business when I realized I was less passionate about consulting and wanted to refocus on coaching small business owners.

I set out to solve the biggest problem I’ve seen owners struggle with. Which is getting trapped working more hours than they want to and losing their freedom as their business grows.

The work I do now is the culmination of everything I’ve learned about growing a successful business while also enjoying your life to the fullest!

Today I live in a beautiful coastal town called Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast in BC, where my happy place is the beach.

I’m fortunate to live with the love of my life, work the hours I choose, and prioritize my relationships and health above all else.

I’m still passionate about travel, both internationally and locally in my converted camper bus Fleetwood.
